Leeds United have encouraging updates on Gabriel Gudmundsson, Jaka Bijol and Daniel James, though Saturday’s Arsenal clash may still come too soon.

According to Leeds Live, pre-Everton worries over the left flank eased 28 minutes in when James Justin struck his first Premier League goal for the Whites and impressed defensively.

The move began down the left while Justin was on the opposite side after briefly swapping with Jayden Bogle. Despite Justin’s rising ratings, fans will want Gudmundsson back, as he is the club’s only left-footed left-back.

Gudmundsson has an adductor strain. An initial three to four-week estimate has been softened by a second opinion, so he might miss only one or two more games, although a worst case has him out for Arsenal and Nottingham Forest. Possible return date: February 6 vs Nottingham Forest (H).

There is better news on Bijol. His hamstring strain should sideline him for less time than first feared, with a return within the next three weeks at least and possibly sooner, easing any need to recruit at centre-back in the 3-5-2. Possible return date: February 10 vs Chelsea (A).

James, out since late November with a hamstring issue that did not require surgery, partially rejoined training last week and might have fully returned by Saturday. Even so, selection against Arsenal looks touch-and-go given match fitness. Possible return date: February 6 vs Nottingham Forest (H).
