Aimar Blázquez has finished pre-season by forcing the conversation at Valencia, earning minutes under Carlos Corberán and hinting at a possible first-team opening.

According to Superdeporte, he impressed late on against Newcastle by giving the side a focal point in the box, then went closer versus Hércules, beating the full-back and seeing a powerful effort from distance saved.

Tall at 1.94m yet far from a limited target man, the Madrid-born striker can drop off, combine and attack space. Finishing is his standout trait, evidenced by 49 goals in 62 División de Honor matches. Not long ago he was the leading scorer at youth level in Spain.

He links play well and activates runners from the second line. In the youth teams he regularly created space for Leslie Okay and David Otorbi, and despite his build he is not slow.
