Charlie Cresswell ‘to have medical’ before €28m Rennes move | OneFootball

Charlie Cresswell is set for a medical with Rennes ahead of a loan-to-buy deal worth up to €28m, David Ornstein reports.

The agreement is understood to include a €2.5m loan fee, a buy obligation of €22.5m, a further €3m and 10 per cent of any future sale, with a five-year contract on completion.

An England youth international, the centre-back came through Leeds United’s Academy and stepped up to the first team, although opportunities were limited.

He left Elland Road in July 2024 to join Toulouse for a fee believed to be around £3.8m.

Cresswell’s rise since then included Toulouse rejecting a €23m bid from Brighton in January.
