Memphis Depay is closing in on a return for Corinthians, with the forward in the final stages of recovery from a right-thigh injury. He could be cleared by the medical staff in the coming days to train without restrictions and be available to Fernando Diniz.
According to Globo.com, the club are working on the basis that the 32-year-old could feature in at least one match this week.
Corinthians host Barra on Thursday at 19:30 Brasília time at Neo Química Arena, the second leg of the Copa do Brasil fifth phase. On Sunday at 16:00, they visit Botafogo in Rio de Janeiro in the 16th round of the Brasileirão.
Depay has not played since 22 March, when he departed in the first half against Flamengo. That was 50 days ago, and he has missed 13 matches. He still attended the 3-2 win over São Paulo while injured.
Approaching the end of his contract, the No 10 has one goal and one assist in 2026. The board are seeking partner companies to help fund an extension.
Corinthians have only six fixtures left before Brazilian football pauses for the World Cup. Memphis is likely to be called up by Ronald Koeman for the Netherlands during the tournament.
