Corinthians president says André to stay as Nottingham Forest move stalls | OneFootball

Corinthians president Osmar Stabile says midfielder André Luiz will not be sold to Nottingham Forest in this window, which shut in England and other major European leagues at 19:00 Brasília time on Tuesday.

“An offer was made, we made a counter offer and they are still assessing it. He will not be sold in this European window. There are other open windows that could allow a deal, should other clubs be interested,” he said in an interview with Rádio Energia 97.

The 20-year-old, of whom Corinthians own 70% of the economic rights, was valued at £15 million plus £6 million in bonuses payable across both clubs. Forest did not meet those figures.

A transfer could yet be finalised via Olympiacos, owned by Evangelos Marinakis who also controls Forest, with Greece’s window open until 15 September. Other deadlines include Eredivisie on 2 September, Türkiye on 4 September, Portugal on 4 September, Saudi Arabia on 6 September, and Russia on 10 September.

Amid a financial crisis and R$ 2.8 billion debt, Corinthians projected R$ 151 million in transfer income in 2026. In February, Milan bid up to €17 million for André, but Stabile chose not to sign the sale.

André Luiz debuted for the seniors in September 2025 in a 1-0 win over Fluminense under Dorival Júnior. He has 47 appearances, 31 starts, seven goals and two assists, and featured in the 2025 Copa do Brasil and 2026 Supercopa do Brasil triumphs.

He became a regular under Fernando Diniz this season before a grade 2 right hamstring injury on 6 August. He resumed ball work with the physios last Wednesday.
