Denis Zakaria withdraws from Switzerland squad with adductor pain

AS Monaco captain Denis Zakaria is nursing an adductor issue after the win over RC Lens, according to L’Équipe.

The 29-year-old was forced off in the 76th minute on Friday and replaced by academy midfielder Pape Cabral.

After the match, the Switzerland international played down the problem and said he had come off because of a physical issue.

He was then unable to take up his call-up and withdrew from Switzerland’s squad on Monday.

The report said he had been feeling adductor pain for several days before facing Lens, and that the game aggravated it.

Zakaria will spend the international break in La Turbie and hopes to be fit to face Toulouse FC on 10th October.
