The battle for Younes Ebnoutalib is far from over as Morocco still intends to call the player for the start of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. The 23-year-old is also reportedly in Jürgen Klopp’s first Germany squad.
The Frankfurt-born striker scored a hat-trick for Eintracht Frankfurt in the opening weekend of the season. He contributed five goals and two assists in his first nine games for the Eagles after leaving Elversberg in the middle of the season when he was leading the scoring chart in 2. Bundesliga.
Ebnoutalib has Moroccan roots, and he has played for the North Africans at the U15 level. Several reports confirmed the player will be named in both squads as the first international break will kick off after this weekend's action. Klopp will announce a 40-man squad for the UEFA Nations League on Thursday.
