FC Basel: Jeremy Agbonifo set to leave

Jeremy Agbonifo could already be on the move. On loan this season at FC Basel from RC Lens, the 20-year-old Nigerian-born midfielder is in talks for a transfer, as confirmed by the Swiss club after his absence against FC Lugano.

Signed permanently by Lens in the summer of 2025 after an impressive spell at BK Häcken, Agbonifo has struggled to make his mark in Switzerland, scoring 2 goals in 16 appearances across all competitions. A return to Häcken on loan now appears to be on track. Under contract with Lens until 2028, the Sweden U21 international could reignite his development in familiar surroundings.
