Fiorentina have confirmed Paolo Vanoli’s departure, opting against offering a new deal despite his role in steering the team to safety.

The club said in a statement that they thanked Vanoli and his staff for their professionalism, passion and courage, and that new president Giuseppe B Commisso, who succeeded his late father Rocco, praised them for restoring belief, unity and togetherness while guiding the team to safety.

Vanoli replaced the sacked Stefano Pioli in mid-November 2025, with only four draws from the first 10 Serie A matches.

The winless start stretched to 15 league games, yet Fiorentina became the first side ever to avoid relegation despite failing to win any of their opening 15 fixtures.

It is widely reported that Fabio Grosso will take over next, after leading Sassuolo to promotion from Serie B and then mid-table security.
