Leeds United are ‘currently’ putting defender Nico Elvedi through his medical paces ahead of snapping him up.
With Sebastiaan Bornauw keen to leave to seek regular game time and a move to Hamburg on the horizon, Leeds have been working on landing another centre-back.
Switzerland centre-back Elvedi, on the books at Daniel Farke’s former club Borussia Monchengladbach, is the man they have been in talks for.
With an agreement found with Gladbach and Elvedi already in agreement on personal terms with Leeds, the deal is progressing quickly.
The defender has flown to England and, according to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, ‘is currently undergoing his medical’.

Leeds will hope that the former FC Zurich centre-back can come through the checks without an issue.
The Yorkshire giants are paying a fee of €10m to land Elvedi, while Gladbach have also made sure to include a 15 per cent sell-on clause.
Elvedi will have a tough time nailing down a spot in Farke’s side, despite the German playing with three centre-backs.
Jaka Bijol, Joe Rodon and new boy Tarik Muharemovic will all have expectations of starting for Leeds, with Bijol and Rodon established options, while Muharemovic cost €34m.
Elvedi, with over 300 Bundesliga outings to his name, will back himself though as he fights to put himself in a position to play.

Leeds’ business in the window is now picking up further pace, with goalkeeper Lucas Perri expected to complete a loan move to Torino.
The Italians will pay a loan fee of €1m and also have an option to buy if Perri shines during his time in Serie A.
Striker Joel Piroe could also go, with West Ham United working on a move for the former Championship top scorer.
Piroe made no impact under Farke in the Premier League, with the German appearing not to be convinced about his qualities at top flight level.
