Michy Batshuayi has left Eintracht Frankfurt to join Abha FC, starting another chapter in a career of frequent moves. L'Équipe reports the deal is worth around €2m.

Bild claims Eintracht had put him up for sale and that he had stopped training normally with the first team. The transfer also sheds a significant salary, as the striker was earning around €3m a year.

His Frankfurt spell never clicked. He arrived from Galatasaray at the start of 2025 for about €3m, then left after 21 competitive appearances totalling 484 minutes and four goals.

His situation worsened last season. In December he suffered a metatarsal fracture in a 6-0 defeat against RB Leipzig and did not play again.

During pre-season Hütter made clear he was not in his plans, so Batshuayi worked with other discarded players and did not travel to the training camp in Grassau.

Abha FC have just been promoted to the top flight and are busy in the market. He will link up with Nabil Fekir, Abdou Diallo and Donovan Léon.

His name still resonates with Valencia fans. He joined on loan from Chelsea in summer 2018, for the Centenary season and a Champions League return, but failed to match expectations under Marcelino García Toral. By late December 2018 Valencia were trying to cut the loan short to clear room for another forward.
