Carlo Ancelotti has named 26 players for Brazil’s upcoming friendlies, with Flamengo duo Pedro e Samuel Lino included. The pair marked their call-ups with messages of gratitude and optimism.
According to Globo.com, Brazil will face Australia in Townsville on 25 September, meet again in Brisbane on 29 September, then play India in Kolkata on 3 October.
Pedro thanked Flamengo, described his return as gratifying and said it reflects hard work. He hopes to enjoy a new, winning cycle with the national team.
He featured at the 2022 World Cup. His last cap came in a 4-2 defeat to Senegal on 20 June 2023. He was called in 2024 by Dorival Júnior but a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee forced his withdrawal.
Samuel Lino had been on the long list for the 2026 World Cup but was not selected. Ancelotti called him up in August last year to replace the injured Matheus Cunha during a FIFA window. He said he is happy to be involved in this new cycle and hopes to enjoy it.
