A bombshell report in English media has recently claimed that Chelsea are willing to spend a fortune to sign Vinicius Jr.

The Brazilian international was subjected to boos and whistles for the second consecutive game at the Bernabeu, which has raised questions over his future at the club.

Chelsea, to that end, are reportedly willing to shell out as much as €158 million to lure Vinicius Jr. away from the Spanish capital.

This comes shortly after the club’s decision to mutually part ways with coach Enzo Maresca, with the Blues currently under the leadership of interim boss Calum McFarlane, with Liam Rosenior expected to join soon.

However, El Chiringuito has offered an update on the Chelsea and Vinicius transfer saga, suggesting that the Premier League giants are not an option for the player.

The report adds that the London club are not willing to cover the Brazilian’s salary demands. Vinicius Jr., as a result, is not considering Chelsea as a viable option.

It must be noted that the winger has been demanding the same salary as star player Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid, something the club have not been willing to meet.

This has invariably caused tension, leading many to speculate about the attacker’s long-term future at the club, especially amid rampant racism in Spanish stadiums and hate from Chamartin.

Chelsea, to that end, could have been an interesting destination for Vinicius Jr, especially under someone like Rosenior, who is poised to become only the 12th Black manager in the history of the Premier League.

With a chunk of the season still remaining, it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid manage to reach an agreement with Vinicius over contract renewal, failing which the player is destined to leave the Bernabeu at the end of the season.
