RFEF planning new Segunda Federación group reshuffle affecting Castellón B | OneFootball

Segunda Federación’s groups could be redrawn again, potentially sending Castellón B back to group three. The club has not yet received formal confirmation from the RFEF.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the shake-up accelerated after Calamocha announced it will compete in group two, saying this follows an order from the RFEF’s Judge for Non-Professional Competitions. That move would force a wider adjustment to keep five groups of 18 teams.

The plan under discussion would move Calamocha from group five to group two, Castellón B from group two to group three, Salerm Puente Genil from group three to group four, and Atlético Paso from group four to group five. Puente Genil also expects to line up in group four.

For Castellón B, a return to group three would restore a more natural map, with opponents from the Comunitat Valenciana, Región de Murcia and the Balearic Islands.

This latest puzzle began with the administrative relegations of Tarazona and Arenteiro, which created two vacancies. Tarazona’s place was awarded to Castellón B, and the RFEF put them in group two, keeping the calendar originally assigned to Tarazona.

Unión Malacitano’s non-registration then allowed Salerm Puente Genil to return, opening the door to a geography-led reshuffle long sought by Calamocha. For now, the RFEF’s public listings still show the original allocation and require Castellón B to play Tarazona’s group two schedule, although that decision could soon be revised.
