Al Hilal have been lifted by signs of returning fitness in camp as they gear up for the top-of-the-table Clasico with Al Ittihad.

Wednesday's main session saw Salem Al-Dawsari join the opening phase of group work before continuing his individual programme under medical supervision, Al-Yaum reports.

That step is viewed as a strong indication he is nearing full fitness, and his chances of making the Clasico squad are rising.

Hamad Al-Yami and French defender Theo Hernandez also did ball work as they entered the final stages of rehabilitation, keeping the door open for an imminent return.

Al Hilal host Al Ittihad at nine o'clock on Saturday 10 October, the standout tie of the Saudi Roshn League's eighth round.

Al Hilal lead on 18 points, Al Ittihad are second on 17 from seven matches, one clear of Al-Nassr in third and Al-Qadsiah in fourth.
