Leeds United are closing in on their fourth summer signing, with Gladbach defender Nico Elvedi due for a medical today. He is set to replace the outgoing Sebastiaan Bornauw, while a loan for goalkeeper Lucas Perri to Torino is also expected to be approved on Monday.

BBC Sport report that Elvedi will cost an initial £6.8m, rising to £8.5m, adding depth at centre-back.

Incoming business to date includes James Trafford for £40m plus £5m in add-ons, Harry Wilson on a free, and Tarik Muharemovic for £34.1m. Those deals, together with Elvedi, take the initial outlay to £80.9m, potentially £87.6m if all clauses are triggered.

Outgoings confirmed include Pascal Struijk to Brighton for an initial £15m, with a further £3m in add-ons, The Argus reported. Leeds are believed to have received £6.5m for Joe Gelhardt, with add-ons mentioned but unspecified, Isaac Schmidt left for £2m, and Jack Harrison moved to New England Revolution for a nominal £750,000. Leeds will also receive £850,000 for Perri’s loan.

That income totals £25.1m initially, rising to £28.1m if the Struijk add-ons land. Bornauw’s switch to Hamburg is an initial loan with an obligation to buy worth between £3.5m and £4m, which is expected to be settled next summer. On that basis, the overall outlay would be around £59.5m if every clause is met, with further additions still considered likely before the deadline.
