Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed the signing of Louie Barry
Sheffield Wednesday have made a busy start to the summer transfer window under new owners Arise Capital.
The Owls were taken over by the group led by David Storch at the start of May, bringing the club out of administration.
Arise Capital first installed David Bruce as the new CEO before appointing Simon Wilson to the role of sporting director.
And now the pair are overseeing Sheffield Wednesday’s transfer strategy, with Wilson working closely with Henrik Pedersen.
The likes of Ricardo Santos, Jordi Liongola and Callum Slattery have all joined the club, with Barry Bannan also making his return just six months after leaving for Millwall, and now Louie Barry has been confirmed as the latest signing.
There will no doubt be further additions between now and when the market shuts on 1 September, with the Yorkshire outfit preparing for the new League One campaign.

Barry has become the seventh addition to Pedersen’s side this summer, and the sixth permanent signing, after Sheffield Wednesday agreed a deal with Aston Villa.
Wilson has praised the 23-year-old’s attitude in helping to get the transfer over the line, suggesting his relentless pressure helped seal the move.
He claimed that Barry had the option to sign for a number of different clubs, but that he pushed for the opportunity to move to Hillsborough instead, and he’s excited by what the forward can bring to the team.
“Louie’s determination to make this move happen has been relentless,” said Wilson, via the club’s official website.
“He had multiple options available this summer, including opportunities in the Championship, but he was clear from the outset that he wanted a permanent home – and for him, it was only Sheffield Wednesday.
“Henrik, Louie and I all believe in the synergy of this move – the right player joining the right club at the right time.
“He brings goals, directness and real attacking quality, with attributes that are closely aligned to the playing identity we are building.
“He has already shown what he can do at this level, but there is much more to come.
“With the stability of a permanent home, our coaching environment and the backing of our supporters, we believe Louie can become an important player for Sheffield Wednesday for many years to come.”
Barry has previously spent time on loan with Sheffield United, where he made just nine appearances in the league, before being recalled midway through the agreement.
The 23-year-old has also enjoyed three stints with Stockport County, where he first met Wilson, who was the League One side’s sporting director before joining Sheffield Wednesday.
It’s been a difficult last 18 months for the former Aston Villa player, who has struggled to recapture his best form from his first two periods with Stockport.
Sheffield Wednesday fans are excited by Barry’s arrival, particularly as he has joined on a permanent basis.
The Owls have been praised for their level of recruitment so far this summer, with further business still expected.
Some fans are just pleased to see the club acting this way in the transfer market again after a tumultuous period under the previous owner.
Barry’s arrival has shown supporters how far the Owls have come over the last 12 months, with anticipation for the new campaign building.
Sheffield Wednesday will begin their campaign on 15 August with a trip to face Leyton Orient.

This is the latest in a line of promising signings for Sheffield Wednesday under their new owners.
While it could take some time for everything to gel given just how many signings are being made, fans have every reason to be excited.
The atmosphere around the club is a far cry from where it was just 12 months ago, where several key players left without being replaced at all amid financial issues.
Barry is a particularly promising addition, and Sheffield Wednesday will now be hoping to offer him the stability he needs in his career to get his best form back on track.
