Manchester United academy graduate Toby Collyer has revealed he was often left amazed by Bruno Fernandes during training.
Collyer is currently on loan at Hull City, but enjoyed a brief spell with the United first team during the 2024-25 campaign, where he made 13 appearances across all competitions.
In a recent interview, the 22-year-old was full of praise for Fernandes when asked which players stood out most in training.
“In terms of ability, Bruno Fernandes,” Collyer told The Athletic.
“Some of the stuff he does in training would have me thinking, ‘That’s not normal, I don’t understand it.’
“Obviously, he’s clever, but he does turns where he just finds a pass out of nowhere. It’s incredible.”
The young midfielder also hailed Casemiro’s exemplary influence.
“Casemiro was a big role model too, a player I looked up to,” he added.
“These past four years, being around him, just watching and seeing the little things he does – first into training, ultra professional.”
Collyer played alongside Fernandes in his first European start against Rangers and joins a growing list of players who have praised the United talisman since his arrival at Old Trafford.
Fernandes is two assists away from setting a new Premier League record for most assists in a single season, currently held by Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry.
Collyer, meanwhile, will hope to help Hull secure a return to the Premier League after a nine-year absence.
The Tigers face Millwall on Friday in the first leg of the play-off semi-finals.
