Valencia’s rebuild still has gaps, with right-back the urgent concern after recent departures and injuries. According to Superdeporte, four additions have arrived but more are needed, and the club are scouring free agents.
Thomas Meunier’s late snub and a stall in talks with Andrés García have complicated plans. Foulquier’s fitness issues, plus the exits of Thierry and Renzo, have left the first team short. The B team will cover for Corberán early in pre-season.
The recruitment team are working on a ‘plan C’, tracking alternatives for the flank and checking they match Corberán’s brief. Meunier left Lille as a free agent and that market remains attractive.
Turkish defender Zeki Çelik is out of contract at Roma. At 29 and valued around 14 million, he looks likelier to re-sign with the capital club.
Dani Carvajal is unattached after leaving Real Madrid, with several clubs trying to lure him. At 34 he is in no rush.
Gaizka Larrazabal has departed Casa Pia and is being monitored by Sampdoria. He is the son of former Athletic Club left-back Aitor Larrazabal.
William Mikelbrencis, 22, has left Hamburg and has interest from Bundesliga and Serie A sides. Tariq Lamptey, a Ghanaian with a British passport, is seeking a club after Fiorentina proved a step too far and Brighton did not stick following his Chelsea academy days.
Other free agents include Pol Lirola, who played for Elche in 2022, Ricardo Pereira, Netherlands internationals Hateboer and Veltman, plus Kouau, Mbabu, Zé Carlos, Atal, Busi and Ehizibue.
