Wladimir Mattos launched his candidacy for the Santos presidency on Thursday, outlining a rebuilding blueprint. According to Globo.com, the 61-year-old administrator set out three pillars to guide his programme.

His plan is built on Casa em Ordem, Identidade Santos and Santos Protagonista, aiming to organise finances, restore identity and modernise the club.

He said the aim is for Santos to compete, develop, grow and win again, with any renewed prominence coming from structured work rather than rhetoric.

Mattos added that no sporting project endures without planning, a capable team and continuity. He argued that Santos must organise the present to rebuild the future. He has yet to confirm a running mate.

He proposes auditing contracts, renegotiating debts and applying rigorous criteria to investments and signings. He said the club needs method, transparency and responsibility, not improvisation or empty promises, so football spending becomes sustainable.

He also wants an integrated playing philosophy between the academy and first team, and to strengthen the club’s presence in Santos, in São Paulo and across the country.

Mattos holds a degree in Administration and is licensed in History. He has worked in the logistics sector since 1980, managed youth football departments in Baixada Santista clubs and served two terms on Santos’ council.
