Arsenal have confirmed that the Premier League match against Crystal Palace in October has been moved to Sunday, October 26th at 14:00 UK time, having initially been scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 25th.

The change is as a result of Palace’s participation in the Europa Conference League, with games taking place on Thursdays in the competition.

With the Palace game now on Sunday, it will be shown live on Sky Sports, as all non-Saturday 3pm kick-offs will be televised in the UK this season.

The first knock-on effect of the fixture alteration is that Arsenal have a little more time to recover after a big Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, October 21st.

But if Arsenal can defeat Port Vale to reach the next round of the League Cup, they’ll now have a tighter turnaround for that fourth-round fixture in the following midweek.

Presumably, the Gunners would get their potential cup game on the Wednesday, October 29th, rather than having just over 48 hours between the Palace and League Cup clashes.

If Arsenal are eliminated by Port Vale, the Gunners will have just over 6 days between the new date of the Palace game and their next Premier League fixture away to Burnley.

But it could be a busy time for the team if they reach the League Cup fourth round and draw one of England’s top sides.
