AS Monaco endured night to forget on Saturday suffering 3 - 1 loss away to Lorient in ligue 1.
Yet, amid the disappointment, Ansu Fati once again emerged as the standout figure continuing his remarkable scoring streak since joining on loan from Barcelona.
Fati came off the bench in the 65 minute with Monaco already trailing and reduced to 10 men after Tilo Kehrer's first half red card.
Despite the uphill task, the 22 year old forward converted penalty in stoppage time giving his side consolation goal.
The Spanish forward's now scored 4 goal in just 97 minute across all competitions for Monaco.
His record includes strike against Club Brugge .. a brace versus Metz and now penalty against Lorient (averaging goal every 24 minute).
Such numbers underline his instinctive finishing & ability to deliver under pressure.
Although his overall display against Lorient was modest (with no successful dribbles and 73% passing accuracy) .. Fati's hunger was evident.
His decision to step up confidently for the penalty at 3 - 0 down reflected his determination to prove himself after years of injury setbacks at Barcelona.
Monaco secured Fati on loan with an option to buy, reported to be around 15 million euro.
If he maintains this trajectory this season activating the clause could be 1 of the smartest deals in recent years.
