Corinthians have been found liable by the São Paulo labour court in a case brought by forward Léo Natel over unpaid FGTS deposits. The club can still appeal.

According to Globo.com, the ruling was issued last week by judge Mariana Farias Santos of the 11th Labour Court in the East Zone. The claim was valued at R$ 508,000, but the exact sum due will be set in the next phase, called liquidation of the judgment.

Natel, 28, now plays for AEL Limassol in Cyprus. He filed the suit in October 2025, alleging FGTS sums were not paid during his Corinthians contract, which ended in August 2024.

Corinthians argued that when the forward was loaned to APOEL in Cyprus, Casa Pia in Portugal and Melbourne City in Australia, responsibility for labour charges lay with those clubs. The judge found the club did not provide sufficient documents to prove any transfer of liability.

The sentence orders Corinthians to deposit the outstanding FGTS, and to pay a fine and legal fees. Signed in mid-2020, Natel made 54 appearances for the club and scored four goals.
