Bucs beat All-Stars to clinch Cup

Orlando Pirates secured a 2-0 victory over the Carling All-Stars team to clinch the Carling Cup at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

The Buccaneers broke the deadlock in the 68th minute through youngster Sifiso Luthuli, who chipped Brandon Petersen in the All-Stars' goal.

Pirates doubled the lead 10 minutes from time as Boitumelo Radiopane unleashed a low drilled shot into the bottom corner.

As a result the Soweto giants became the first-ever League Cup champions to beat the All-Stars team since the inception of the exhibition match in 2023.

Stellenbosch FC lost in the inaugural match, before Magesi FC suffered the same fate last season - both against ex-Pirates coach Jose Riveiro.

Meanwhile, for Abdeslam ouaddou, this is the third trophy in the cabinet, having steered the Bucs ship to MTN8 and Carling Knockout Cup glory.
