“Honestly, I don’t know. At the end of the month I will return to training at my club, I will play and regarding the rest of my career my agent will handle it. For now I’m going back to my club,” said Arthur Masuaku.
He was speaking to Sports News Africa.
The left-sided defender joined Sunderland last summer, featured for the first half of the season on Wearside, then moved to Lens on loan in January. His long-term position remains unresolved as the Black Cats shape their squad for the new campaign.
Masuaku arrived with significant pedigree after spells in the Premier League, European competition and at international level. Sunderland’s upcoming season includes Premier League and Europa League commitments.
There has already been movement this summer, with Granit Xhaka’s situation resolved and Eliezer Mayenda finalising a switch to Rennes. Focus now turns to further arrivals and potential departures as Régis Le Bris refines his squad.
