Borussia Dortmund are sending out a strong signal ahead of the Bundesliga top match against FC Bayern. TV pundit Dietmar Hamann sees BVB in impressive form – and warns Munich
Will FC Bayern have to seriously tremble once again in the title race? If Dietmar Hamann has his way, Borussia Dortmund are currently on a very good path. In his Sky column, the TV pundit was extremely impressed by the Black & Yellows‘ performance
„They have will, belief, heart, passion and also resilience. All the things that have always been denied them. I can’t understand the whole discussion about beautiful soccer. They play successful soccer, and that’s the most important thing,“ said Hamann, praising the upcoming Bayern opponents
BVB’s 2-0 home win against Atalanta Bergamo has put them in an excellent position for the second leg of the Champions League play-offs on Wednesday. Things are also going well in the Bundesliga: six wins in a row have reduced the gap to FC Bayern to six points
Hamann sees efficiency in particular as a decisive factor: „BVB have played very efficiently in the last two games against Mainz and Bergamo. That’s incredibly important at this stage of the season and ahead of the clash against FC Bayern.“
The direct clash with the record champions will take place at the Dortmund stadium on 28 February. Hamann is looking forward to the coming days with excitement: „Of course, it can all be over within a week if you lose in Leipzig and are eliminated in Bergamo. But if you win on Saturday and progress in the Champions League, you go into the classic with a broad chest.“
For the former international, a lot depends on the outcome of the next few games: „If you’re successful, it gives you a lot of confidence, so the games can’t come quick enough. That’s why the outcome of BVB’s next two games will be incredibly important for what happens in a week’s time on Saturday.“

Dortmund were beaten 2-1 in Munich in the first half of the season – the Westphalians‘ only Bundesliga defeat of the season so far. At one point, coach Niko Kovac’s side were eleven points behind FC Bayern, but the gap has now been almost halved.
