According to Leeds Live, Leeds United are preparing to confirm the signing of free agent Harry Wilson on a long-term deal, a year after a late collapse.

The Wales international will sign a long-term contract at Elland Road, joining his international team-mates Dan James, Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon, with Karl Darlow potentially at the club this season.

The addition is widely regarded at Elland Road as smart business, securing an international who can trouble Premier League defences and both score and supply.

Former Leeds and England defender Danny Mills said he was amazed Wilson had reached free-agent status and found it astonishing he was not tied down earlier.

Mills believes the winger would be a very good signing, but says Leeds face a decision on whether to persist with five at the back.

He suggested Wilson could operate as a number eight or number ten in that shape, praised his intelligence and talent, and described Elland Road as a magnificent stage.

Mills added it would be a good move for both sides and felt Wilson’s quality could make him a quick favourite with the home crowd.
