Santos have ended talks with betting firm ZeroUm over a proposed two-year front of shirt deal worth more than R$ 80 million after club compliance advised against proceeding and the board accepted the recommendation.

Concerns centred on the company’s status, with a federal government document stating it is operating in Brazil only under a judicial determination during an adaptation period, and it is not yet on the Ministry of Finance’s regulatory list. Fantástico previously reported police suspicions about the company.

The club have sought a new primary sponsor since the season began after terminating an agreement with 7k, another betting firm. The board want a partner offering greater security for the most prominent area of the kit.

Corporate records list ZeroUm as incorporated in July 2024 with capital of R$ 30 million, and name Deolane Bezerra as a partner until November 2024.

Her exit came roughly two months after the report alleged police suspected the bookmaker was set up to launder money from illegal gambling. After the broadcast, her lawyers said ZeroUm was not part of the investigation.

Although no longer a partner, Bezerra has promoted the brand on social media in recent days. ZeroUm’s logo appeared on Portuguesa’s shirt last Sunday during their Paulistão quarter-final against Corinthians.
