The youngster has started two of Chelsea’s opening three Premier League games, and Estevao became the youngest player in Blues history to register an assist in the league.

The attacker plays with no fear, and has rightly earned plaudits for his performances, and Mikel has now had his say.

“You can see already in the past few games that he’s very direct,” he told his Obi One Podcast.

“Once he gets the ball, he attacks, he tries to create chances and score goals, and that’s what we need.

“He’s not messing about with the ball. He’s not trying to do flicks here and there. He’s very direct.

“He wants to score goals. He wants to create chances. He wants to win games for the football club.”

Brazilian players shining at Chelsea

Estevao isn’t the only Brazilian making an impact at Stamford Bridge, with both Joao Pedro and Andrey Santos doing the same.

Pedro scored three goals in three games at the Club World Cup and has followed that up with two in Chelsea’s opening three league games.

Santos has featured in all three league games so far, and he’s put in a series of impressive performances, and with the injury to Dario Essugo, and Romeo Lavia’s injury issues he’s in line for plenty more opportunities to show what he can do.
