Udinese technical director Gianluca Nani has claimed that Inter Milan will be amongst the frontrunners for both Serie A and the Champions League this season.

Speaking in an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb, Nani described the Nerazzurri as a “fantastic team” after his Friulian side emerged as shock 2-1 victors against Inter at San Siro on Sunday evening.

“At San Siro we were both good and lucky”, Nani said, “But luck comes from your attitude.”

The technical director was full of praise for Cristian Chivu’s side, however.

He claimed that “Inter will fight once again to win the league and to go all the way in the Champions League.”

Udinese fought back from a goal down to beat Inter at the weekend.

They continued their unbeaten start to the season at the expense of the Nerazzurri.

The result came as a shock for an Inter side who looked confident in their 5-0 win against Torino.

Denzel Dumfries opened the scoring for Inter before a penalty from Keinan Davis tied the game.

A fine goal from Arthur Atta gave the visitors all three points.

Speaking more about the impressive victory, Nani argued that “winning at San Siro is obviously not something normal.”

He gave “credit to the coach and the players, we were lucky but we deserved it.”

The technical director hailed the win as “a great injection of confidence.”

Udinese sit 5th in the Serie A table, on four points. Inter, meanwhile, sit just behind them in 6th with three points.

After the international break, must engage with a tough run of fixtures.

In the space of roughly two weeks after club football returns, Inter have five matches to contend with.

After a tricky trip to Juventus on September 13, Inter Milan kick off their Champions League campaign in Amsterdam against Ajax on September 17.
