Liverpool are reportedly readying a move for an exciting winger and a CEO has opened up about it.

Even after all the investment in the summer, it does still feel like there are areas where Richard Hughes could strengthen the Reds' squad.

Arne Slot has ample options in midfield and in the full-back roles but perhaps not so much when it comes to winger depth nor in the centre-back department.

For the latter, we already pretty much know what Liverpool are going to do. They are going to try to sign Marc Guehi. Whether in January or next summer, the England international looks likely to end-up at Anfield.

But when it comes to the wingers, it's a lot more tricky to figure out. Liverpool have lost a few options in that area over the course of the summer window.

Rio Ngumoha has announced himself as a genuine option. But he's barely 17-years-old, so can he really be trusted to play week in, week out?

The consensus on that is moot. The reality is probably that Liverpool would want to add another left-winger in order to replace Luis Diaz.

In the past the Reds have been linked with Bradley Barcola and Malick Fofana. But there is reportedly another name on the club's radar.

Liverpool want Bazoumana Toure

According to a report in Fotboll Direkt as per Sport Witness there have been reports of the Reds eyeing a move for Bazoumana Toure of Hoffenheim.

Some have even compared him to Roberto Firmino due to the Brazilian also arriving in England from the same German club.

But before making a name for himself in Hoffenheim and catching the eye for the Bundesliga club, Toure started his European journey at Hammarby in Sweden.

Amid the rumours, Fotboll Direkt asked Hammarby's CEO Mikael Hjelmberg about his views and opinions.

The director confirmed that if such a move were to happen Hammarby would get a major windfall from the transfer. He also added that he keeps in regular contact with Toure.

“Yes, it absolutely does,” Hjelmberg said.

“If that were to happen, it would be an excellent testament to our scouting and development activities. As well as a great joy and pride for the person and the player Bazou.

“He has been impressive. I am extremely happy for him. Yes, we are in regular contact.”

What this means for Liverpool's transfer for Toure remains to be seen. It's interesting that a CEO is already talking about the prospect.
