Brazilian champion in 2005, Élton Arábia welcomed Kaio César’s arrival at Corinthians, seeing parallels in their paths from Saudi football and in overcoming doubts about stature.
"I am happy with his move to Corinthians. You can see he has a lot of quality. I follow Arab football closely and saw he had a good competition there," he told ge.globo.
Kaio emerged at Al Hilal, while Élton spent much of the past two decades with Al Nassr, Al Fateh, Al Qadsiah and Al Wehda, plus spells in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
The forward is one point six eight metres, taller than Élton at one point five eight metres, and previously said he almost gave up because of his height. "The distrust over being short has always existed. I faced it. Unlike Kaio, I was not released for being short. Today the game is much more about contact and physical strength, but with technical quality Kaio César overcomes that."
Kaio must now wait a few days to return after suffering a right hamstring injury in his second appearance for the club last Thursday.
Élton played for Corinthians from 2004 to 2007, making 36 appearances with two goals and five assists, before joining FCSB in Romania. He now plays for Zumbi in Alagoas.
