In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Real Madrid have identified Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez as a target. It is believed that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to bring the Argentine talent to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next year.
Fernandez is having an impressive campaign at the West London club as he has put in a string of impressive displays for them in the middle of the park. The 24-year-old has featured in nine matches for the Blues this season, scoring three goals and grabbing one assist on all fronts.
The Argentine talent has anchored the midfield well after making ten tackles, five blocks, three interceptions and three clearances in the Premier League. He has even distributed the ball accurately from midfield as he has completed 83.1% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at Chelsea will run out in the summer of 2032. Thus, Real Madrid would have to make a convincing offer if they want to recruit him next year.

Fernandez is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his side inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when the opposition are on the offensive and is a tidy passer of the ball as well.
The Argentine talent can strike the ball well from long range and is proficient at making some energetic runs from midfield. However, it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in La Liga.
We can expect Fernandez to bring more quality and depth to Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso’s midfield department. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the Madrid club in the coming years.
At 24, Fernandez has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for Los Blancos to pursue next year. The Argentine sensation might even help Real Madrid compete for some major trophies over the next few seasons. Hence, Alonso would be wise to move in for him when the transfer window reopens this January or at the end of this campaign.
