After Pulgar deal, Flamengo prioritise new terms for Pedro and Léo Pereira | OneFootball

Flamengo have turned to new deals for Pedro and Léo Pereira after finalising Erick Pulgar's renewal, both are contracted until the end of 2027. According to Globo.com, the pair are now the next priorities.

Football director José Boto set out the sequence at Ninho do Urubu, noting Pulgar came first and that Pedro and Léo Pereira are next. He added this work cannot be done in a day. Both could sign pre-contracts from mid year.

Pedro was approached soon after returning from the serious knee injury suffered at the end of 2024. Talks advanced but still needed president Bap's approval, which did not come. Before the injury he had a verbal deal with Rodolfo Landim's previous board.

Léo Pereira also received an indication months ago of at least a pay rise, which did not materialise. Sought by European clubs and called up by Carlo Ancelotti for the World Cup, the centre-back is seen as a key figure.

Both last renewed in 2023 and their wages have lagged behind team-mates, including in the same positions. News of high-profile arrivals on big salaries has caused unease among players awaiting recognition.

Rossi and youngster Evertton Araújo have likewise been promised improved terms. After ending 2025 in strong form, the goalkeeper was signalled for a possible extension to his deal, which runs to the end of 2027.

Evertton, contracted until the end of 2028, covered midfield absences well but has reverted to the bench following Pulgar's return. The club see scope for growth, hope for a good sale and intend to reward him.
