Agustín Sienra has bid farewell to Castellón as his season-long loan from Defensa y Justicia ends. The player said in a post that the campaign brought enjoyment and learning, and that he was proud of what the group built.
The Argentine arrived last summer on loan until the end of the season. He anchored the centre of defence and, during the run-in, filled in at left-back after Jéremy Mellot's injury. He made 26 league appearances, 18 as a starter.
One standout display came in Tuesday's second leg of the play-off semi-final against Almería, when he volleyed in to make it 1-2. He has been an important figure for Pablo Hernández and for the club, and could yet remain if the option to buy is exercised.
In his message he thanked club staff and supporters, both at Castalia and away, and highlighted the collective effort that kept Castellón in the promotion fight until the end.
He reflected that the group tried to put the city at the top of Spanish football and, although it did not happen, he feels they moved a step closer to that aim.
Tommaso De Nipoti has also bid farewell, returning to Atalanta after his loan. The Italian described a fantastic year among wonderful people, and expressed gratitude to team-mates, staff and the fans for their constant support.
