Al-Ahli are in talks to sign AS Monaco midfielder Pape Cabral (19), as per a report from L’Équipe. The academy product could make the move to the Gulf state for a fee of €10m.
It was a hectic transfer deadline day for Monaco, who sought to sell either Folarin Balogun or Lamine Camara but ultimately signed neither. It leaves the Principality club in a precarious situation and needing to sell more players. Balogun could yet leave, with the markets in Turkiye and Saudi Arabia still open, but it is Cabral who is attracting attention from the latter.
Al-Ahli have contacted Monaco about a move for Cabral and talks have progressed very quickly. A deal could soon be struck for a fee of about €10m. The midfielder, it was thought, could play a role for the first team this season, having signed a contract extension until 2031 over the summer. However, he is now seemingly nearing an exit from the Stade Louis II.
