Al-Hilal open Al-Majdiah Sports Centre as Ronaldo’s sought-after facilities appear in Riyadh | OneFootball

Al-Hilal have unveiled a new training base in Riyadh, the kind of elite set-up Cristiano Ronaldo said Manchester United lacked in a 2022 interview that preceded his contract being torn up.

According to Goal.com, the first team’s home, the "Al-Majdiah Sports Centre" at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, was inaugurated on Friday.

The complex spans more than 56,000 square metres and includes two grass pitches, an integrated performance centre and specialist recovery facilities.

There is a medical clinic, meeting and lecture halls and a suite of support areas for technical, physical and medical needs, plus an on-site hotel, administrative hub and media centre. Club imagery showed murals of every trophy and historic moments, alongside a swimming pool and fitness gym.

Al-Hilal also presented technologies being used for the first time at football clubs in the Kingdom, including a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, an anti-gravity treadmill, a traditional sauna with Himalayan salt and red light recovery. A hypoxic hall can simulate altitude and varied climates by controlling oxygen, temperature and humidity for tailored programmes.

The first team were scheduled to train there on Friday after returning from an overseas camp in Austria. Their Roshn League campaign starts next Friday against Al-Faisaly.
