Deportivo Alavés have replaced departing winger Carlos Vicente by signing Ángel Pérez from SD Huesca on a deal to June 2030. The club said in a statement that the 23-year-old arrives after Vicente’s move to Birmingham City, which brought in around eight million euros.

Pérez, from Zaragoza, comes in as a present and future option for the right flank at Mendizorroza. Vicente had been one of Alavés’s most decisive performers across the past two seasons.

Developed at Montecarlo in Zaragoza, Pérez moved through CD Cuarte before joining Huesca in summer 2022. He then took loan spells at Utebo and Rayo Cantabria, shining in Segunda Federación with 32 games, 10 goals and 10 assists.

That form earned a first-team place at Huesca this season under Jon Pérez Bolo. He has played 21 competitive matches between league and cup, scoring three goals and supplying two assists in his adaptation to senior football.

Alavés view him as a quick, dribbling winger with strong technique and a habit of arriving in finishing areas. The signing adds youth, talent and long-term value to the attack, with the club accepting his immediate impact is unlikely to mirror Vicente’s.

Pérez is already in Gasteiz to work under Eduardo Coudet and could debut in the coming fixtures. He has travelled with the squad to Barcelona for Friday’s meeting with RCD Espanyol.
