Álex Padilla has been called up by Mexico for their next internationals, giving Athletic another full international in their ranks. According to El Correo, the goalkeeper could make his senior bow during this window.

El Tri have friendlies scheduled against Colombia on 26 September, Peru on 29 September, the United States on 3 October and Chile on 6 October.

Padilla, 23 and from Zarautz, featured in several games for Mexico Under-23 two seasons ago. He has also represented Spain at youth level.
