According to Americayya.net, América have reached an agreement with Palmeiras and Raphael Veiga for a loan move, including an option to buy in December.

The deal comprises a loan fee of one and a half million dollars, with a purchase clause set at six million dollars.

Veiga, 30, has spent his career in Brazil’s Serie A, enjoying his peak years at Palmeiras, where he lifted two Copa Libertadores and multiple domestic honours.

An official announcement is still pending, expected only after he arrives in Mexico, completes medicals and then signs his contract.

América have opened the Clausura 2026 with no goals in the first three rounds, the first time in 56 years, a drought also seen in 1970.

Many will argue a ruthless striker is the fix, and while that would help, Veiga’s profile looks well suited to easing the issue.

The attacking midfielder offers vision and delivery to put strikers or wide players in advantage, attributes América have lacked since Diego Valdés left.

His level is no longer what it once was, but if he adapts to Liga MX he could be an intriguing addition who helps address the team’s attacking problems.
