Palmeiras have lined up a loan move for Veiga to América, do México until the end of the year, including an option to buy.
According to Globo.com, the clubs are aligned and Raphael Veiga has approved the move, viewing it as a chance to regain form in a competitive Mexican league after an injury-hit year.
The option fee is undisclosed, with terms pleasing both Palmeiras and the player.
The expectation is he will not be named for Sunday’s away game at 20:30 Brasília time against Botafogo-SP in the Campeonato Paulista.
Palmeiras aim to finalise the deal quickly to free up room on the wage bill and plan a replacement.
The midfielder is regarded as a modern club idol and among the most successful players in Verdão’s recent history.
