October was a special month for Real Madrid as the club registered some of their biggest wins and best performances under Xabi Alonso.

The month began with a convincing win over Villarreal before the team scraped through with a win away at Getafe. They then beat Juventus and Barcelona back-to-back, sealing a perfect record.

One of the team’s standout players of the month was Arda Guler who excelled in controlling the midfield, creating attacking chances, and stabilising the team’s progression through the middle.

Earlier today, he was officially named Real Madrid’s player of the month for October, and deservedly so, given how he has improved and become pivotal to the team’s performances on the field.

The young Turkish star also spoke to the media after being handed the special award and began by explaining that his biggest goal for the season was to win titles for the fans who support the team.

“The fans are always behind us, they really support us and we’re delighted to have them. I hope we can win every trophy come the end of the season.”

The attacking midfielder also provided an update on how he feels personally about his performances and contributions on the field.

“I’m feeling confident. We’ve had a good start to the season, myself and all my teammates. It’s really important to me that the coach has faith in me.”

Finally, the player was asked to provide his pre-match thoughts ahead of the game against Rayo Vallecano this weekend, to which he said,

“We’re in for a tough match, but we have to be prepared for anything. We want to win it and head into the international break with another three points.”
