Austin FC loan CJ Fodrey to Scottish Premiership team

Austin FC have loaned forward CJ Fodrey to Scottish Premiership side Falkirk FC through June 2027, the club announced Wednesday.

The loan includes a recall option for Austin in January 2027 and does not include a purchase option.

Austin selected the 22-year-old American No. 13 overall (first round) in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft.

Fodrey has since tallied 3g/2a in 58 first-team appearances and helped Austin FC II win the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro title.

"CJ is a talented young player and the best thing for him at this stage in his development is to be in a position to earn consistent, high-level minutes," said Austin interim head coach Davy Arnaud.

"We feel this move to the Scottish Premiership will help him to do exactly that, and CJ expressed to us that he is excited to test himself in Scotland."
