Barcelona are monitoring young striker Fisnik Asllani, whose release clause becomes effective next summer (h/t journalist Florian Plettenberg).
The Blaugrana need a new centre-forward and could swoop for Asllani, who has ‘a deadly touch in the final third‘.
Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski is in the final year of his contract, and the club are unlikely to renew it.
They are scouring the market for replacements, and Asllani has caught the eye after a fantastic start to the 2025/26 season for TSG Hoffenheim.
He has bagged four goals in six games, impressing with his technical quality and terrific finishing.
Asllani bagged a winner against Union Berlin and Bayer Leverkusen and helped Hoffenheim secure a point against Freiburg.
His performances have caught the attention of the Catalan giants. He also dreams of playing for the club.
Barca will likely be monitoring the 6ft 1in tall star until the end of the season before deciding whether to move for him.
They are also reportedly looking at other centre-forwards, including Karl Etta Eyong and Dusan Vlahovic.
Asllani represents a low-risk, high-reward gamble for Barca. The 23-year-old is still developing, but is already showing the kind of sharp instincts and composure that hint at a striker built for the top level.
His abilities, coupled with a release clause that activates next summer, give Barca a chance to secure a potential long-term striker without the inflated prices often tied to proven names.
If Asllani maintains his form across the campaign, he could emerge as one of Europe’s smartest pick-ups.
