Bayern Munich wants to keep Dayot Upamecano
Dayot Upamecano's contract with Bayern Munich runs until June 2026. With this situation, the French defender is drawing attention from some of Europe's top clubs: Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester United, Inter Milan, and Barcelona.
According to recent rumors, Real Madrid is even said to be close to a verbal agreement with him. However, Bayern is keen to reassure their fans. The club's sporting director, Christoph Freund, told Sky Sport Deutschland that he is very confident about a contract extension:
I am very confident. I have known Upa for a long time. Bayern's style of play suits him perfectly, and his family feels good in Munich. I am convinced that he will stay longer.
Sporting CEO Max Eberl has already expressed the same optimism. Upamecano has been playing in Munich since 2021 and has already made 166 appearances in the Bavarian shirt. For Bayern, everything is in place for him to continue his journey with the club, even though competition from other top teams is still strong.
