Benfica without Sudakov as Seixal tests confirm right ankle sprain | OneFootball

Benfica will be without Sudakov after tests at Seixal confirmed a right ankle sprain, with no return date set.

According to Glorioso 1904, the Ukraine international was injured against Northern Ireland after a heavy challenge from Brodie Spencer, departing on 68 minutes in clear discomfort.

Team-mate Eduard Sarapiy later said Sudakov feared a more serious problem. The Ukrainian federation released him to return to Lisbon early, ruling him out of the Hungary fixture.

Further assessments were carried out on Monday at Seixal. Medics have yet to define any layoff, with his recovery to be guided by clinical progress.

The immediate outcome is his absence for Benfica’s return to action against Vitória de Guimarães. The number 10 now begins his rehabilitation programme.
