Benfica midfielder Georgiy Sudakov has been released from Ukraine duty with an injury and will miss the Nations League meeting with Hungary.

The federation announced in a statement that the 24-year-old has left the training camp and returned to his club, adding that the severity of the issue was not disclosed.

The decision came less than 48 hours after a heavy challenge by Brodie Spencer forced his withdrawal on 68 minutes in a 0-3 defeat to Northern Ireland.

He is therefore out of the fourth and antepenultimate Group 2, League B fixture, which kicks off at 19:45 on Monday, again in Slovakia.

Ukraine sit second in Group 2 of League B with 4 points from 7 available, the same tally as Hungary. Sudakov could also be a doubt for Marco Silva for the meeting with Vitória de Guimarães.
