Bruno Arleu de Araújo to referee Santos v Remo in Copa do Brasil last 16 | OneFootball

FIFA-PRO referee Bruno Arleu de Araújo, 43, will take charge of Santos v Remo on Saturday 01 at 21:00 at Vila Belmiro, the first leg of the Copa do Brasil last 16.

According to Diario Do Peixe, assistants will be Thiago Henrique Neto Correa Farinha and Luiz Claudio Regazone, with Daniel Nobre Bins on VAR.

This year he has overseen two Santos games, the 0-0 draw with Coritiba in the Copa do Brasil fifth phase and the 3-2 league defeat at Grêmio. Last year he handled a 1-0 loss at Grêmio and a 1-1 draw at Atlético-MG’s Arena MRV.

In 2024 he refereed the 2-1 defeat to Sport at Ilha do Retiro on the final day of Série B, his first Santos match after a CBF suspension. His previous Santos outing had been July 2023’s 4-3 win over Goiás, sealed by a stoppage-time penalty he awarded.

Also in 2023 he took charge of the 2-1 loss to Cruzeiro at Independência and the Copa do Brasil last 16 exit to Bahia, a 1-1 second leg at Arena Fonte Nova followed by a 4-3 shootout defeat.

In 2022 he oversaw a 1-0 defeat to Coritiba in the Copa do Brasil and a 2-1 home loss to Atlético-MG. In 2021 he refereed four league games, two defeats and two home wins, including 2-0 v Atlético-MG.

He also officiated Santos matches in 2020 and 2019, including two wins over Coritiba and the 2-1 Copa do Brasil loss to Atlético-MG at Pacaembu.
