Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze is not dwelling on the Soweto derby mauling to bitter rivals Orlando Pirates over the weekend as Richards Bay clash looms.

The Glamour Boys will be away to the Natal Rich Boys at a sold-out uMhlathuze Sports Complex in a Betway Premiership clash on Tuesday (19h30).

This comes after Chiefs conceded three unanswered goals against Pirates, subsequently dropping to fifth on the log standings, having amassed 30 points in 17 league outings.

With their perceived redemption match looming, Kaze has shouldered responsibility for the derby thrashing, as he shifts focus to the KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit.

“I take the full responsibility, there's no [such thing as] I'm gonna take this [part of] responsibility, I take full responsibility of the team because I'm the leader of the team and there is no point in going back to say I should have done that because now the game is done,” he said.

"My focus is going to be on the next game on Tuesday against Richards Bay instead of thinking that I should have played that one instead of this one.

The CAF A License holder went on to address the team's recent slump amid a three-game losing streak across all competitions.

“The only way [to bounce back] is to go back and show the players and everyone what has worked before. Sometimes it's not even complicated, you go basic things first and try to defend better to not concede goals,” Kaze added.

"I'm pretty sure that in the first 15 games of the league, we were a team that was not conceding a lot of goals and that gives confidence to the player as well. But I have to acknowledge that we have been a little bit unlucky in the last few weeks with a lot of injuries, especially to the players at the back.

"And you have to change the backline every game. I think that as well contributed to not having a good record.
