Chelsea have rejected an opening loan offer from historic rivals Leeds United for Mykhailo Mudryk, according to football.london.

The 25-year-old returned to football earlier this month after his anti-doping charges were lifted, having been suspended since November 2024 for a positive meldonium test.

Chelsea are open to loaning the winger out for more first-team minutes, with several clubs monitoring his situation. No decision has been made on where he will play this season. The opening bid fell below Chelsea’s expectations and it is now for Leeds to decide whether to push on.

Strasbourg, Chelsea’s sister club, remains an option, although Mudryk’s preference is said to be to stay in the Premier League. He is open to leaving Stamford Bridge to rebuild fitness and sharpness after a lengthy spell out.

Xabi Alonso has multiple left-sided options this season. Club-record signing Morgan Rogers, who arrived from Aston Villa for £117 million earlier this summer, appears the go-to on the left. Jamie Gittens is another possibility, while Geovany Quenda and Pedro Neto can operate on either flank and Estevao Willian has also featured there.
